In Caserta there is today an invisible space. A large area sorrounded by a wall, which nobody knows about. The area is 33 hectares wide housing 500.000 cubic meters of barracks, hangars and warehouses for machinery.

The aim of the project is to open up the city and to improve the area of Macrico in order to make it one of the biggest urban parks in Italy: a site where culture, art and leisure can live together sorrounded by trees and lawns. The plan is accomodates within the park both private (housing, hotels and sport spaces) and public buildings, the new municipal building (the Town House), and the MACC, Museum of Contemporary Art of Caserta.
